Deepening our roots!!

It is hard to believe that Sunseeds has been running for nearly 14 years!! After an adventure-filled sabbatical year, filled with reconnecting with old, dear friends, taking time for deep rest, and immersing in the rhythms of nature, it has become clear that Sunseeds has many more years of serving children and their families ahead!! What a beautiful blessing Sunseeds has become, and continues to be, in our lives!!! As we reawaken the garden beds and give a fresh coat of paint to our porches and steps, we are reminded of all the sweet little feet that have run and played on our play yards and in our forests. We can nearly hear the children’s laughter that has filled the air beneath these giant trees for so many years, and we recall all of the joy and imaginative play that has unfolded here.. We are nearly a year into our our new beginning, and as we build upon the strong foundation that we began so many years ago in 2011, our gratitude overflows!! With so much help from those amazing & wonderful first Sunseeds families, along with the magic that brought Sunseeds into being, it is an honor to be able to continue to carry Sunseeds far into the future as a gift and an offering to the families here in the Chapel Hill area. As we once again cycle the seasons together and fall into the familiar rhythms of painting day, drawing day, baking day and soup-making day, we find strength in the wholesome, health-giving joy of this work and we feel our roots growing ever deeper into this sweet little patch of forest land! And as our roots grow deeper, so, too, our branches also spread wider!!! We look forward to welcoming our newest families as we continue to grow humbly and earnestly towards our wish to spread bright seeds of hope, love and joy into a world so in need of more kindness, generosity and warmth of heart!!
